Faroe Islands
The Faroese flag is a red-edged blue Nordic cross on white, designed by Faroese students in Copenhagen in 1919 and used unofficially for decades before Denmark recognised it. It shares its cross-on-white pattern with Iceland's flag, adopted only a few years apart.
