Abydos Helicopter Hieroglyph
A carved panel at an Egyptian temple appears to show a helicopter, a submarine and other modern vehicles layered together. Egyptologists identify it as a palimpsest: later pharaoh Ramesses II's titles carved directly over his father's original inscription, the two overlapping texts creating the illusion once the covering plaster wore away.
