Dyatlov Pass Incident
In 1959, nine experienced Soviet hikers cut their way out of their own tent in freezing conditions and fled without proper clothing, dying of hypothermia and severe physical trauma. Decades of investigation have settled on no single confirmed cause, only competing theories, for why they abandoned their shelter that night.
