Rosicrucians
Two anonymous pamphlets published in Germany between 1,614 and 1,615 announced a secret brotherhood devoted to hidden knowledge, the Rosicrucians. Historians now generally credit a single Lutheran theologian as the actual author, writing the group into existence rather than exposing one that already existed.
