Flat Earth

The modern movement traces to one Victorian writer, Samuel Rowbotham, who published under the name Parallax starting in 1849. A Flat Earth Society he inspired survived the Space Race by simply denying Sputnik's existence, and still claims members today despite centuries of settled astronomy.
