Painterly, textured work with a folk-tale slant. The backgrounds look like aged and speckled paper, the figures run long and slightly crooked, and the palette sits in rust, ochre and dull green almost throughout. A witch flying low enough to skim the grass with her hat streaming behind her. A ghost standing among bare branches with pumpkins at its feet. It is whimsical rather than frightening, with something quieter and sadder running underneath it.

The artist is Betidraws, who works out of Berlin and has been posting to Pixabay since October 2021. She is prolific and still adding to it: more than three hundred illustrations so far, forty-five of them chosen for Editor's Choice, and over a million views on the work. She sells through Etsy as well.
