Discarding and donating
Discarding and donating are one act with one button: Donate. There is no bin. A card you no longer want goes to the house, and the house says thank you.
How to donate
Open any card you own and click Donate. To clear several copies at once, click Copy N of M to see them all, tick the ones to go, and click Donate selected. Any card, any rarity, sleeved or bare, even a sealed one. You are asked to confirm, because it is for good.
What happens to the card
A donation is a trade with the house, and it is handled like any trade. The card goes as it is, sleeve or top loader still on, and takes the same knock roll a trade would, with whatever protection it wears. Then the house unpacks it: a sleeve is binned, and a top loader is rigid and reusable, so it comes back to you. A sealed card is never rolled; it leaves your registry and goes as sealed. Then it lands in the set's Discovery pool, where donated cards wait to be packed into Discovery packs for other collectors to open. If it was on your pending list for registration, it comes off.
What you get for it
- A thank-you in XP and Credits. Small, and larger for rarer cards: a Common is worth a Credit, a Rare six. Only Basic to Rare cards are donated; a Very Rare or rarer card is traded, sold or kept. Donate a handful at once and it arrives as one line in your ledger. It is an acknowledgement, not a price; no card is worth more donated than kept.
- A clean collection. Duplicates you will never trade are just clutter on the copies page. The set page counts unique cards, so nothing you donate ever costs you progress on a set, only the spare copy.
- Room to grade. A card at the bureau holds a slot; a card on your pending list waits for one. Donating what you don't want to grade keeps both short.
- Someone else's pull. Every donated card is a card in a Discovery pack one day. The house never mints new copies to fill those packs; it packs what collectors gave.
Before you click
There is no undo. A graded card you donate is gone with its grading number; a sleeve or a top loader on a donated card goes with it. Nothing comes back. If in doubt, keep it: a card in your collection never takes damage, and there is no limit on how many you can hold.
