Editions
Every set is printed in an edition, shown on its store shelf as Edition: BETA, FIRST, LIMITED or UNLIMITED. The edition says who could pull the cards and whether more will ever be printed.
Set editions
- BETA: beta testers only. Printed while the game was in beta, for the collectors who were here then. Every copy wears the β mark. The run is never reprinted.
- FIRST: a limited edition, the set's first public run. Every copy wears the 1 roundel. When it sells out, unlimited runs of the same set follow, unmarked, so a first edition copy is the one to hold.
- LIMITED: a limited edition with no mark and no runs to follow. When it is gone, it is gone.
- UNLIMITED: continuous print runs. When the shelf runs low the set is reprinted, so a copy is never scarce, only its grade is.
Card editions
A single card can carry its own edition, whatever its set's.
- NUMBERED: the card says how many exist, 1 of 20, printed on the card. No more are ever made.
- ORIGINAL: extremely rare, a one of one numbered print.
The mark is drawn on the card itself from the set's own print run, so it can never be lost, traded off, or faked. How rarity works inside a set is on Rarity, editions and serials.
